Our Trees

Every tree at Howling Pines is grown right here on our farm in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, shaped, cared for, and ready for your family's holiday tradition. We grow four species so you can choose the tree that fits your space, your style, and the way you celebrate. Walk the fields with us and take home a fresh-cut tree that no lot can match.

Norway Spruce

The Norway Spruce is the crown jewel of Howling Pines and our best-seller year after year. With strong, upward-angled branches shaped over years of careful farming, these trees hold their classic silhouette beautifully. They carry a rich, natural spruce fragrance and their firm branches are among the best of any species for supporting heavier ornaments and heirloom decorations. Whether you're decorating a cozy living room or filling a grand entryway, our Norway Spruces range from 5 to 18 feet — there's one here with your name on it.

Best for: Families with heavy ornament collections, large spaces, or anyone who loves that classic Christmas tree look.

Canaan Fir

Our Canaan Firs take 7 to 10 years to reach 8 feet — and every one of those years shows. This tree earns its reputation with outstanding needle retention, a deep evergreen color with a soft blue-silver underside, and a fresh, true fir fragrance that fills the room from the moment you bring it inside. The short, soft needles make it easy to handle and safe for little hands when decorating. If you want a tree that looks full, smells incredible, and stays beautiful through the holidays, the Canaan Fir is your tree.

Best for: Families with young kids, fragrance lovers, and anyone who hates sweeping up needles.

Blue Spruce

There's no missing a Blue Spruce. The striking Colorado blue color and perfectly symmetrical shape make it one of the most eye-catching trees on the farm — and in your home. Its exceptionally stiff branches can handle the heaviest ornaments you own, and the dense, full silhouette gives it a bold, sculptural presence. Fair warning: the needles are sharp, so gloves and long sleeves are your friend when handling this one. But for families who want a tree that truly commands a room, the Blue Spruce delivers every time.

Best for: Statement-makers, heavy ornament collectors, and households with pets (the sharp needles are a natural deterrent).

White Pine

If you have high ceilings, a wide open space, or just want a tree that makes a big impression, the White Pine is your answer. Growing faster than almost any other species on the farm, our White Pines range from 8 to 15 feet with long, soft, sweeping needles and a beautifully full, layered look. They're lighter weight than spruce varieties, making them easier to set up and transport. And when the season winds down, the boughs don't go to waste — White Pine branches are ideal for crafting fresh wreaths, garland, and holiday roping.

Best for: Large rooms, budget-conscious shoppers wanting a big tree, and crafters who love DIY holiday décor.
